Q: Do I have to install any software on my web server?
A: No. IPWatcher does everything remotely from our secure servers.
Q: Will the service affect my site's visitors in any way?
A: No. There will be no difference in performance on your site and your users will not know it is being monitored. (Other than the fact that it is up! :)
Q: Can you check dynamic pages, search engines, CGI scripts, or other web applications?
A: Yes. IPWatcher can access any URL and can simulate form posts.
Q: Can you check password-protected URLs?
A: Yes.
Q: My ISP monitors my site. Why do I need IPWatcher?
A: Many ISPs simply ping your server. This cannot detect problems with application errors, database errors, or even connectivity outside of your hosting ISP. IPWatcher can check for all of these potential problems and notify you immediately if anything is wrong.
Q: What if I need to take my site down temporarily for maintenance? Will I be inundated with notices?
A: No problem. You can simply suspend monitoring through your IPWatcher control panel and resume it when your site is back up.
